CHANGCHUN, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Japan's Ikuma Horishima and Jaelin Kauf from the United States claimed moguls victories at the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup on Friday in Beidahu, northeast China's Jilin Province.
Kauf, the silver medalist at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, showed her domination in the women's moguls, achieving the highest score of 82.19 points.
"I'm very happy with the result. The course was in really good condition today, so I had a lot of fun skiing," said Kauf.
The second place went to Perrine Laffont of France, with a score of 79.23 points. American skier Olivia Giaccio rounded out the podium with 78.43 points.
In the men's moguls, Horishima, also the silver medalist at Beijing 2022, put behind his lackluster 16th placed performance in the qualification, scored the highest total of 86.57 points in the final.
"The result today was perfect for me. But if I compare to other athletes, I'm trying to chase the perfect landing. I hope to make a better training in the future," said Horishima.
Behind Horishima in second place was Kingsbury Mikael form Canada with 85.91 points. The third place went to Sweden's Gravenfors Filip at 83.79. ■
