At that time, Duguimaa and her family members were in charge of raising hundreds of sheep for local rural production team. Without wages, the family lived on allocated coupons, barely enough for rice and wheat flour. In 2009, Duguimaa left the pasturing area and moved to a 75-square-meter apartment allocated by local government in Wulanhua Town of Siziwang Banner.
