XIAMEN, April 4 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition featuring winners of the 2018-2019 Red Dot Award for Communication Design opened Thursday in the eastern Chinese city of Xiamen.
The exhibition themed "Speed and Warmness" will run through May 19 at the Red Dot Design Museum in Xiamen.
The exhibition showcases 707 exhibits from 35 countries and regions, covering 17 categories including packaging design, publishing and print media, posters, film and animation, fair stands and apps.
It is the first time that award-winning pieces from the Red Dot Award for Communication Design have been exhibited in China, and more of such exhibitions are expected to come in the future, said Shi Zhenhong, head of the Red Dot Design Museum in Xiamen, which opened in November last year.
Initiated in Germany in 1995, the Red Dot Design Award is one of the world's most prestigious design prizes. The award breaks down into three categories: product design, brands & communication design and design concept, and is given annually.
